Falling in love with the Appaloosa Horse after attending many AAA National Shows as a spectator, I decided to look for spots.  I have only owned and shown ponies so I thought of the Palouse Pony!  The Palouse Pony Association was established in 1974 as an overflow of undersized Appaloosas.  In American however this breed is known as the Ponies of America (POA) and their breeding originates from an Appaloosa being bred to a Shetland Pony.

Many of todays trainers and performance riders started as youths with the Palouse pony and there is no reason why that cannot continue.

We imported JB from Moulton Alabama in 2007  KS’s Pony Farm.  It had been 30 years since a POA was imported into Australia so we thought it was about time to introduce new bloodlines.  Our goals in breeding are DISPOSITION, CONFIRMATION and COLOUR.  The first two are of utmost importance, colour is necessary for showing. The Palouse Pony can stand 14hh and under and must have appaloosa characteristics.  This breed is excellent for youth but can be shown by all.
